The Up Center Today and into the Future

Tina Gill has led The Up Center, the region's oldest and largest non-profit family services agency, since 2014.  The agency's mission is to protect children, strengthen families, empower people in crisis and maximize independence for those with disabilities.  The Up Center helps over 10,000 local citizens in crisis each year.

Tina’s experience has spanned more than 20 years. In 1990, Tina joined Landmark Communications as a New Ventures Associate, ultimately becoming General Manager of their Interactive Media group. Most recently, she served as Vice President of External Relations Operations Wellpoint/Amerigroup and Executive Director of the Amerigroup Foundation. In addition, she steered the National Advisory Board on Improving Healthcare Services for Seniors and People with Disabilities, bringing a deep understanding of issues around Medicaid and serving the more vulnerable members of our community.

“Tina is a proven leader with a collaborative style, business vision and the ability to bring people together. She brings creative ideas and innovative strategies to fruition, which is what The Up Center needs as we propel our community to becoming more trauma informed,” said Tina's immediate predecessor, Ed Welp. “These practices ensure that we are responding to the vulnerabilities or triggers of trauma survivors, working more collaboratively with our community partners, and ultimately, empowering our clients.”
