Meet Jim Kitz

Jim grew up in the lower Hudson Valley of New York.  He graduated from the U.S. Military Academy in 1985 where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in General Engineering.  While at West Point, Jim was a four-year letterman in baseball.   He was the starting pitcher against the New York Mets in an exhibition game played at West Point in 1984 and recorded a strikeout against one of their players.

Assigned to Fort Eustis, Virginia, he and his family experienced the benefits of living in Hampton Roads and were eager to remain in the community.
In 1990, after five years of commissioned service in the United States Army as a Transportation Officer, Jim joined the financial services industry in the Norfolk office of what was then, Kidder, Peabody & Co. He recently celebrated his 25th year in the same office which is, after a few mergers, UBS Financial Services, Inc.

An avid sports enthusiast, Jim has been active in several youth athletic programs and continues to try to improve his golf game.

After being introduced to the Rotary Club of Norfolk by Cy Grandy, Jim joined the club in May 2014.  Jim and his wife, Clare, reside in Smithfield, Virginia and have two adult children, Bryan and Jessica.
